Established in 1992 by Lee Alexander McQueen and now under the creative direction of Seán McGirr, the namesake London label rewrites the sartorial rules with a subversive offering of clothes, shoes and accessories. McQueen cut his teeth as a Savile Row tailoring apprentice and a pattern cutter for a West End theatrical costumier – two influences which inform the complex techniques used to create the label’s deconstructed suits, harness shirts and jacquard sweaters.
